RSC LEAGUE RULES

TEAM ROSTER

  • THIS SEASON YOU CAN MAKE A TEAM WITH EMPLOYEES FROM DIFFERENT FOOD & BEVERAGE BUSINESS. (NO LIMIT)

  • NO MAXIMUM LIMIT PLAYERS PER TEAM ROSTER.

  • 3 GRAND FATHER PLAYER WILL BE ALLOWED. MUST PLAY WITH RSC FOR MORE THAN 3 YEARS TO BE GRANDFATHERED. WE WILL DETERMINE IF PLAYER CAN OR CAN NOT JOIN.

  • MINIMUM 3 FEMALE PLAYERS ON THE ROSTER. 3 FEMALES MUST BAT IN THE LINEUP WITH A MINIMUM OF TWO FEMALES ON THE FIELD

  • FINAL ROSTER ADDITIONS OF NEW PLAYERS DEADLINE IS THE 2nd WEEK OF THE REGULAR SEASON

FREE AGENTS - ANY PLAYER MALE OR FEMALE IN THE HOSPITALITY AND SERVICE INDUSTRY WITHOUT A TEAM CAN JOIN A TEAM BEFORE ROSTER DEADLINE.

THE GAME

Two (7) inning games played Monday mornings. Game Time: NJ: 10:30 AM – NY Rockland:

10:30 AM NY: 11:15 AM

Umpire will go over rules with both captains prior to start of game.

Umpires will check bats before each game of the double header.

Bats: All ASA, USA approved bats allowed. No wooden bats.

Game Balls: White ASA Certified Official Clinchers Slow Pitch Softballs NO. 12.

A team may consist of (15) players with (2) female players on the field. Exception: for a team that

cannot field an entire team, minimum of (8) players to start the game (1) female minimum on the

field at all times). But will get (2) automatic outs in the lineup for the (2) missing the female

players. No female player will result in a forfeit.

Min (2) female players on the field and (3) female players in the batting line-up. The game can

begin with (1) female player. The missing female player(s) in the line-up will be an automatic out

in that batting spot.

If by chance a team has (7) players during a game due to injuries, game will be called.

On offense, a team can have a (DH) Designated Hitter and (EP) Extra Players in their batting

lineup.

Game will start with a 1 and 1 count for male batters & regular count for female batters.

Only captains are allowed to speak to umpires regarding a call or any other inquiries.

RAIN OUTS

Rain out noticed will be sent the night before a game is scheduled and/or 2 hours prior to game time. First rainout will not be made up if we have more rainouts. Rainouts will be scheduled for a later date.

SOFTBALL UMPIRES

  • RSC Umpires are registered game officials.

  • All umpires are required to know all house rules and game rules. ASA

  • All Game Officials will act professional at all times.

  • Umpire fee must be paid during the intermission.

  • $30 per 7 inning game.

  • $40 per 9 inning game

  • $60 per game for Playoffs

BATTING

Batters with 2 strikes are allowed only one foul ball. The following foul ball will be called out!

Batters are not allowed to throw the bat after a hit. Umpire gives out one warning after which

batter is called out.

Batter can't step out of the batter's box to swing at a pitch. Batter will be called out.

No bunting must be a full swing.

Female player batting up: Umpire will measure 5 steps back from first base and set cones. When a

female batter is up, all outfielders must be behind the cone. Ball is live on contact.

5 official league bats must be out against the fence. Umpire must be notified if there will be a change of bats.

GAME TIME LIMIT

(7) Inning game has a 1 hour and 15 minutes limit. (9) Inning game has 1 hour and 30 minutes

limit.

Extra Inning will go only to the 10th

Inning.

International Rules: Last batter out placed at 2nd base on the top of the 8th inning for the 7

inning game or 10th inning on the 9 inning game. Courtesy runner may not be use unless

that player has been using a (CR) throughout the game.

If scores stay the same, game results in a tie.

BATTING ORDER:

A batting order line-up must be submitted to each captain prior to the game.

Teams are allowed (15) batters in the lineup max. This includes a DH & EP’s.

Female Players: (3) female players’ minimum must bat in the lineup. You can play with only (1)

girl on the game roster. She has to play the field and bat. Your lineup will have 2 automatic outs

for the 2 female players missing. No female players result in a forfeit.

Substitutions will be announced to the umpire and captains (female for female / male for male).

PITCHING

Pitcher must pitch from the rubber or designated area which the umpire will mark before start of

game.

Pitcher must pitch to all players (no intentional walks to reach a female batter).

Female batter has the option to walk or bat if the male batter before her is walked.

No fast pitch must be a slow pitch with a slight arc.

FIELDING

Female batting up: all outfielders must be behind the cone or grass. Ball is live on contact.

Outfielders may throw out a batter running to 1st base from the outfield, including females.

No blocking of any base without the ball.

No fake tags!

BASE RUNNING

The base runner may slide towards the base not the defender (no intentional takeout slides). Will

result into an out.

A player may not slide head first into 1st base and home plate under any circumstances. Player is

out but the play is still live.

Base runners may either slide or avoid when a play is made at home plate. No head first sliding!

Base runner may not make hand gestures or scream out anything to a player while attempting to

catch a fly ball. Will result into an out.

No Leading,

No Base Stealing!

Base Runner must run after ball crosses the plate or at point of contact.

COURTESY RUNNER

Courtesy runner shall be the last recorded out made by the player of the same sex.

If no player of the same sex has recorded an out, the player of the same sex listed last in the

batting order shall be the courtesy runner.

Team is allowed one courtesy runner per half inning.

Additional courtesy runners may be allowed with approval from opposing team captain.

MERCY RULES:

10 Run Rule: Will go into effect in the 5th inning for a 7 inning game. Home team taking their last

at bats.

10 Run Rule: Will go into effect in the 7th inning for a 9 inning game. Home team taking their last

at bats.

15 Run Rule: Will go into effect in the 3rd inning for a 7 inning game. Home team taking their last

at bats.

FORFIETS

Official Game Time: NJ: 10:30 AM, forfeit time for game one is 10:50 AM. Game two forfeit

time is 11:50 AM. NYC: is 11:15 AM, forfeit time for game one is 11:45AM. Game two forfeit

time is 12:30 PM. Rockland NY: is 10:30 AM, forfeit time for game one is 10:50 AM. Game two

forfeit time is 11:50 AM. Commissioner must be informed of any game forfeits with a 24hr notice

in order to avoid a forfeit fee. Teams forfeiting are responsible for a $50 forfeit fee. Forfeit fee will

be deducted from $100 deposit. Third forfeit, team will be removed from the league with no

refund.

PRIZES

  • The amount of prize value will determine on the amount of teams in the league.

  • $100 per team amount

  • Championship trophies and apparel are included.

UNIFORMS

All players must be in a uniform shirt for the game. No shirts, the player will start with an

automatic out on top of the 1 and 1 start. The shirt must be the same style and color for all players.

All players must wear acceptable shorts or baseball pants. No jeans or cut off shorts. Spandex may

be worn underneath the uniform short.

All players must wear proper athletic sneakers or cleats. No player should play in a wedge-style

sneaker, street shoes with rubber soles or metal cleats. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Metal Cleats are NOT permitted. Any player caught with metal cleats during the game will be

ejected from the game.

Correct position gloves, baseball caps and mouth guards for pitchers are recommended.

Catcher’s mask must be worn behind the plate, male or female Mandatory.

If player loses shirt, he/she must purchase another Jersey from the league before playing the

following week. Please Note: Price for replacement shirt is $25.

We do not allow teams to outsource their team Jerseys. Must use team shirts RSC supplies or

purchase Jerseys from RSC.

Teams cannot wear team Shirts or Jerseys from previous years. Must be current team Shirts or

Jerseys.

CONDUCT

Player’s code of conduct will be strictly enforced before, during and after each game while at any

field location. Team captains are held responsible for their teams' actions on the field and fans that

came with the team.

Zero Tolerance: For fighting, threats and continuous foul language. This may result in league

suspension and or expulsion. Any player or players involved in a physical altercation will be

ejected from the game and come to grip with suspension and or expulsion from the league.

No Drinking Alcohol on the bench and while game(s) is in progress. No Smoking on the field. No

Hookahs!

Players must clean after themselves when leaving their dugout. Permits can be revoked for

littering.

All individuals are responsible for their own actions after the games are done. We ask for players

to take off any RSC apparel if going to act up in any public establishment. RSC is not responsible

for any off the field issues.

SAFTEY

Any player that is injured or has an open wound is prohibited to participate further in the

game until proper treatment has been administered.

Player must sit out if feeling nauseating, injured on the field or feel concussion type

symptoms. Must sit out at least an inning before reentering the game.

ALL PLAYERS MUST AGRREE ON “THE RSC HARMLESS AGREEMENT” WAIVER RSC

PROVIDES BEFORE STEPPING ON TO THE FIELD. WE DO NOT PROVIDE PERSONAL INJURY

INSURANCE. WE CAN PROVIDE YOU WITH INFORMATION TO GET PERSONAL

INSURANCE www.sadlersports.com. PLAY ON YOUR OWN RISK IF YOU DO NOT HAVE

PERSONAL HEALTH INSURANCE.

CAPTAINS AND PLAYERS THAT IGNORE TO REGISTER AND AGREE TO RSC’S POLICIES AND

WAIVERS WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURIES TO HIM/HERSELF AND/OR

PLAYERS ON HIS OR HER TEAM!
